I love Paris. Shakespeare and Company Bookstore was delightful. A nice surprise was that it sits catercorner to Notre Dame Cathedral. I was there at nightfall. The lights on the bridges that crossed the Seine River were so lovely.
Within the illustrious English-speaking (of course) bookshop Shakespeare & Company and up its narrow stairway, one will find a small reading room where one can dry off from the rain, note the old musty books on the shelves, sit at the ancient typewriter and pretend one is Hemingway, and if timed well at the top of the hour, can lean back and close one's eyes and listen to the bells of Notre Dame sing their chorus just across the Seine.

I like that answer! Oh, the food, Christy! That would be a good post right there: quintessential French food!
